Indra bets on Asturias: agreement with HUNOSA to boost industrial and technological projects

The CEO of Indra Group, Ángel Escribano visited Asturias to hold institutional and business meetings, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the region as a strategic hub for innovation, talent, and industrial development. The visit included meetings with representatives of the Asturian Government and a business meeting at the Official Chamber of Commerce of Oviedo, where David González, director of the Sekuens Agency, responsible for promoting investment attraction and strategic projects in the region, also participated.

Strategic agreement with HUNOSA

During the visit, Indra announced a collaboration agreement with HUNOSA Group to identify land and industrial facilities in the region to develop industrial and technological projects. This agreement aims to combine HUNOSA’s experience in managing industrial spaces and reclaiming land in the mining regions, with Indra’s technological capabilities and international reach.

The agreement involves exploring available industrial facilities and land in Asturias to host projects related to technological innovation, sustainability, and the defence industry, strengthening regional competitiveness and generating new opportunities for skilled employment.

Economic and strategic impact

Ángel Escribano highlighted that Indra aims to continue reinforcing its industrial capabilities, contributing to the economic development of Asturias, and positioning the region and Spain as a leading force within the European market, emphasizing the strategic relevance of the region in the company’s growth plans. Hunosa stated that the alliance aligns with its commitment as a driving force for the reindustrialization of the mining regions, and that the projects will generate specialized employment and technological development, benefiting both the local economy and the Asturian business ecosystem.

This agreement adds to Indra’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Asturias, where the combination of talent, infrastructure, and industrial experience makes the region an attractive destination for high-value investments, especially in strategic sectors such as the defence industry, technological innovation, and sustainability.
