In January 2021, Amazon chose Asturias for its new logistics center. The center is one of the main references in southern Europe and is the only center in northwest Spain supplying the entire north of Spain and Portugal. Built in the Bobes Industrial Estate, it has facilities covering up to 200,000 square meters (25 meters high). Road communications from Asturias have been a key aspect for the choice. Through the ports of Gijón and Avilés, Asturias also has good maritime transport, a very relevant aspect for a logistics center that distributes millions of packages per year.

Saint-Gobain dispose d’un centre industriel aux Asturies, dans lequel il développe des activités de verre pour la construction (Saint-Gobain Glass) et de verre pour le secteur automobile (Saint-Gobain Sekurit).
L’entreprise a un centre de recherche aux Asturies (Avilés R&D Centre) qui a travaillé sur des projets comme le développement de verres pour l’énergie solaire ou des procédures de fusion du verre avec un haut degré d’innovation.
