Colombian aeronautical multinational Indaer sets up in Asturias its operational base for Europe and the Middle East

The office will be located in the Technology Park of Asturias, in Llanera, where Indaer expects to create up to ten highly qualified jobs.

The Colombian aeronautical multinational Indaer has just opened a new brand, permanent office in Asturias. A project advised within the framework of the Invest in Asturias programme by the Economic Development Agency of the Principality of Asturias (IDEPA), aimed at attracting investment to our region.

The opening reinforces the presence in Europe and the Middle East of Indaer, a leading company in aircraft lifecycle support solutions.

The new office, located in the Asturias Technology Park, in Llanera, will be headed by Daniel Restrepo, co-founder of Indaer. “Asturias offers unique opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation in a peaceful and green environment. We are very happy to join forces and better serve our clients in Europe from Spain,” said Restrepo during the inauguration of the new office.

We want to attract Asturian talent and offer a high value-added job to Asturian engineers trained in the aeronautical sector who want to return to Asturias. Setting up in Llanera was the result of an analysis, we wanted our people to be comfortable, we wanted it to be an easy place to move to and for the community to welcome us well,” added Restrepo.

Indaer will offer its full portfolio of services, covering the entire aircraft lifecycle, to leasing companies, airlines, OEMs, and aircraft owners.

Indaer’s arrival opens the door to a new sector of activity in Asturias, with medium and long-term growth potential.

Asturias becomes a pole of investment attraction

This move confirms that Asturias is becoming a “pole of attraction for investment, an ideal place for the development of new business activities in all areas and sectors of activity”, said the Regional Minister of Industry, Employment, and Economic Promotion of the Government of Asturias, Enrique Fernández, during the inauguration of the office.

The estimated investment in the first phase amounts to 700,000 euros and foresees the creation of between eight and ten jobs for highly qualified personnel.

Indaer was founded in 2002 as a provider of aviation technical and maintenance services. In recent years, it has evolved into an agile and efficient company, now more focused on asset management and transitions after having sold its MRO business in 2019.

Indaer joins the five projects confirmed since the launch of the Asturias Investment Attraction Strategy in June 2020: Mind Facilities Management, BEDROCK, TeamEQ, Preco and SEA EIGHT.
